I'm Eric, an independent software engineer and consultant. I build dependable backends and bring order to the infrastructure they run on, so small teams can ship without babysitting their servers.

Backend & APIs
Backend services in Python and Go: Django, FastAPI, and Flask, or a lean Go API. Clean data models on PostgreSQL, REST endpoints, and the background processing behind them.
Cloud & DevOps
AWS, Docker and Kubernetes, Terraform and Ansible, CI/CD. Containerizing apps and moving them to cloud-native infrastructure.
Observability
Self-hosted Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry stacks that give you real visibility and cut monitoring bills for smaller teams.
Data pipelines
ETL and distributed processing with Celery, Kafka, and RabbitMQ to ingest, transform, and keep large datasets in sync.
How I work
Direct, no fuss. I take work from clear requirements through to a running system, favour boring and proven tools over hype, and leave things documented well enough that the next person (including you) can pick them up. Available for select engagements.
